Cinematic Symphony

Our History

The Cinematic Symphony Orchestra is an exciting new orchestra that is enriching the global artistic landscape and inspiring a new generation of musicians. This groundbreaking ensemble is one of the only professional-caliber orchestras in the world dedicated exclusively to the artform of movie soundtrack music. As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Cinematic Symphony Orchestra aspires to not only bring this underappreciated genre of music to life in the concert hall, but to reach out and connect with members of the community–hosting engaging concerts and special events, collaborating with local education programs, and drawing new audiences into the rich and expressive realm of classical music.

The Cinematic Symphony Orchestra was founded in 2023 by Dr. Andrew Keller, co-founder of the Video Game Symphony, as a sister symphony of the VGS. Andrew has always regarded film music and video game music to be co-equal artforms, and truly the classical music of the day. And now, the CSO/VGS organization is so pleased to be able to celebrate both genres with an equal amount of excitement and passion in the concert hall, year-round! Most of the organization’s musicians enthusiastically perform in both ensembles.
